This is one of the prelimary paintings working towards the Cotswolds collection painting. It features one of the key motif’s of Uberpainting that being the gable end of a house or barn. This is a key image/metephor and on ethat I unashamedly exploit in a number of my paintings. Depending on how it’s positioned within the composition and in combination with what does or does not surround it, it can be used to great effect to dictate the mood and focus of a painting. I’ll develop these ideas in more depth in 2012.
