I made the focus of this watercolour painting the bark of the trees rather than the foliage, I suppose it’s a winter painting, I have exaggerated the bark to a pure white, like an over exposed photograph. This is an evolving image to me and a favourite landscape painting subject. This is due to the sheer variety of options, I enjoy painting the forest floor and have gone on to painting Fungi and mushrooms, still yet to be perfected so I’ll be introducing them into 2012.
